All photos: HBO
We have you covered with viewing party locations plus plenty of GoT goodies from Taobao
After almost two years away, Game of Thrones’ final season is now just around the corner, airing on April 14 (9pm US time) on HBO – that's 9am Monday 15 for us. The ultimate finale to eight years of intense plot twists, castle-takeovers and, of course, blood and gore (we're still not over the Red Wedding), we'll finally get some answers as to who'll end up on the Iron Throne and whether the White Walkers will triumph with their invasion of the Seven Kingdoms.
If you haven't figured out how to jump the Great Firewall to watch the series at home, we've got your back with a handy guide to all the pubs around Beijing that are hosting viewing parties – food and drink deals included – to help you toast the final season.
3 Little Pigs
3 Little Pigs will be screening each episode of Game of Thrones every Monday at 9pm. Head on over to the hutong hole-in-the-wall to enjoy meat-laden sandwiches plus the official GoT beer (it's blonde ale, who knew).
4corners
Consider yourself a diehard GoT fan? Flex your knowledge of all things Westeros (and Essos) with a trivia night dedicated to the books and TV show. There'll be five rounds of questions as well as plenty of drink deals to get you in the spirit. A screening of the first episode of the new season will then follow the quiz, starting at 10.30pm.
Anchor Bar
Forget the inconvenience of catching GoT live at 9am, head to Anchor Bar every Monday evening where they'll be screening each episode at 8.30pm on their epic 180-inch screen.
The Bookworm
Perhaps not the place you would usually think to watch Game of Thrones season 8, but The Bookworm's getting in on the action. Opening their doors at 9am, booking in advance is required and your 20RMB booking fee will be credited towards your first food or drink purchase.
Caravan
Five years ago, Caravan was one of the first and only places to watch Game of Thrones every Monday. This year, they’re upping the ante by showing it live at 9am every Monday morning – the same time as the US. Not a morning person (or have a job)? Then catch their encore screening at 9pm for GoT-themed food specials like a Red Wedding meat pie and a Castle Black bowl. They've even secured a supply of the official GoT beer on tap for the next few weeks.
The Local
Head to The Local every Monday at 8pm to catch every new episode of GoT's final season. Make your way upstairs to catch all the action on their 65-inch screens (after navigating any potential spoilers downstairs).
Paddy O'Shea's
Beijing institution Paddy O'Shea's is, of course, getting in on the GoT action. However, with screenings taking place every Tuesday at 8pm, you'll probably need to stay away from the internet for a full 24 hours to avoid spoilers.
Side Street
While Side Street will be screening new GoT episodes every Monday at 9pm, it's worth heading on over a bit earlier to enjoy buy one, get one free burgers with the purchase of any alcoholic bev (6-9pm). Slow Boat's Monkey's Fist IPA will also only be 35RMB.
Q Mex Taqueria
Craving a burrito while stress-watching the final season of Game of Thrones? Grab a half-price burrito with a margarita (45RMB) or Corona (25RMB) when you come and watch all the latest episodes at Q Mex Taqueria – every Monday at 9.30pm.
Queenie's
Queenie's is hosting their very own one-off Game of Thrones viewing party to celebrate the kick-off of the new season. The sandwich dive bar will be hosting a 9am screening on Monday April 15 and will also be launching their new American-style breakfast as well as offering buy one, get one free deals on coffee and tea to keep you fully awake to enjoy the premiere. And if you miss the morning sesh, don't stress because they'll replay it at 9pm.
And of course, as with anything popular in China, you can count on trusty old Taobao to come up with some pretty cool merch to pay tribute to the medieval fantasy drama. If you’re a fan, then check out these six must-haves we’ve found on Taobao to take your fangirling to the next level.

Sneakerheads, get ready for some sneaker porn – who would have thought we’d see the day where we’d be hit with an Adidas x Game of Thrones collab. Adidas have released their popular Ultra Boost kicks in six different colours to rep the six most prominent houses and groups of characters in the series.
You’ll find an iteration that represents the Night’s Watch, the White Walkers, House Targaryen, the Targaryen’s dragons, House Stark and House Lannister. Not only do they sport sexy colours, the shoes include other special details like phrases on the back of the shoe: ‘Winter is Here’ for the White Walkers or ‘Winter is Coming’ for the Night’s Watch.
Other features include a GoT custom insole along with a special crest or phrase on the shoe’s tongue. Nabbing one of these babies will set you back approximately 989-1,369RMB on Taobao depending on your size and style. Better hurry up if you want these bad boys, we can't imagine them staying in stock for long.

How many times have you found yourself uncontrollably humming the GoT theme song? If the answer is 'many, many times', then you're probably going to hate us for showing you this next gadget. GoT's iconic orchestral opening theme has been packed into a wind-it-yourself music box. Get yourself a Game of Thrones music box and don’t blame us when you can't get the theme out of your head.

Game of Thrones Monopoly
Photo: Taobao
Would the show even be a real thing if there wasn't a Game of Thrones iteration of Monopoly? The ‘pit your friends against each other’ wealth-building game is perfect for enthusiasts of the show that have a capitalist bent.
The idea of the game is still the same as the original – collect rent and try to bankrupt your opponents. However, you’ll also have the chance to use game tokens inspired by the sigils of the Great Houses, use holdfasts and buy castles instead of houses and hotels while moving around the board’s properties that are inspired by locations from the TV show. Take the GoT story into your own hands and take out your opponents to claim the Iron Throne – oops... we mean victory.

Statement print tees

Get some cheeky statement tees to really show your dedication to the show. Choose one of the basic T-shirts that have slogans like ‘crows before hoes’ or ‘a girl has no name’ to represent your inner Jon Snow or Arya Stark. And if the poor soul who sees you sporting this top has been living under a rock and doesn’t recognise your tee, then it’d be the perfect time to pull out our favourite comeback – 'You know nothing Jon Snow'.
